Monday, the civic holiday here in Canada. Colonel By Day, officially.

I’m feeling somewhat giddy after the gaming experience on the weekend, but am still hurting quite a lot in the left shoulder and the area of the various muscles that come off the shoulder. My exercises are helping somewhat, but stressing the body parts, I suspect. To make things worse, my allergies are driving me crazy, to be honest. I have no real plans for the day, other than to do a bit of laundry, since I need to start sorting out some of the clothes for this year’s GenCon Indy trip.

I’ve got three medical appointments the last four days of the week, so that should make life interesting this week as well.

Came home from work, and took it relatively easy, enjoying a leisurely lunch of beef & barley soup, some crackers, and a grilled cheese sandwich with coleslaw.

Watched a couple of episodes of pvr stuff, and then did some vacuuming.

Have spent the latter part of the afternoon reading up on and working out some timeline stuff for this evening’s game of Continuum: Roleplaying in the Yet with the Wednesday night group. First roleplaying session of 2017, so really looking forward to that. 🙂

Yesterday was Christmas Day. Being a single fellow, with little family left in the world, ’twas a day where I got to spend much of it on my own.

I woke up to find that my leg pain had diminished somewhat overnight, and that I was comfortably toasty in bed. I decided to lay in a bit longer, since there was no gaming for the day (and even if there had been, I wouldn’t be running it so there! 😛 ), and when I did get up, I headed upstairs for breakfast.

Had a nice breakfast of croissants and café au lait, and then went back to bed for a bit, and snoozed. Got up and jotted down an idea or two for a couple of Coriolis – The Third Horizon RPG scenarios, and then made some notes in the margins about them. Quite pleased with myself about this material, but we’ll see how it shapes up after the game actually comes out. I did a bit of reading before showering, and then had a relatively early lunch.

After lunch, I did a bit of vacuuming in the bedroom and the living room, and then relaxed and took another nap. Then it was time to watch the second disc of the 3rd season of Rizzoli & Isles, and rather enjoyed that.

I had myself a healthy meal for supper, consisting of roast chicken, a salad, some cooked snow peas, and lentils with cumin and onion. Yummy! For dessert, I had a couple of latkes (a Hanukkah tradition) with some apple sauce and drizzled honey. Even Yummier! 🙂 After cleaning the dishes away, I sat back and watched the evening’s new episode of The Librarians, followed by the Doctor Who Christmas special, “The Return of Doctor Mysterio”. It was a fun, light-hearted episode, that wasn’t Christmas-y at all, had a lot of nods to the superhero genre, and was a terrific Peter Capaldi outing.

I wrapped up the evening with my nightly insulin shot, and then went to bed and did some more reading before falling asleep.

It’s a very snowy day here in Ottawa.

The snow started last night around 5:00 pm or so, but wasn’t too heavy, though that intensified over the course of the night. A lot of snow on the ground now, and more is expected between now and the lunch hour. Here’s the view outside my window about 10 minutes ago.

I took one look out the window, and decided that I was going to work from home today. Since I had heard about the potential for this weathery set of events on Friday, I had planned for this. Turns out to be a good decision, as a lot of folks at the office called in sick today.

So I’m nice and toasty here at home, and am working away diligently on office stuff. I’ve also got a couple of loads of laundry I need to do as well, and have to change the bed linens. Also trying to figure out how I’m going to get the garbage out tonight, though.

Sunday morning. *stretches*

A cool morning here, once more today, but promises to go up to around 14oC! Crazy November weather. May have to go for a walk today.

I had a good Saturday night gaming session with the three Friday night players, and they rather enjoyed themselves with Coriolis – The Third Horizon. I’ll blog about this later today, but suffice it to say lots of fun.

I managed to get around 7 hours of sleep last night, but am not feeling bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this morning. Ever since I got the flu shot and we turned the clocks back an hour (a stupid practice, if you ask me), I’ve not been feeling right and am somewhat tired all the time. Adjustment period, perhaps? That said, I do feel pretty good today, so something’s going right, huh? 🙂

Since the Sunday group is not gaming today (due to Tammy working), I’ll be taking it relatively easy. I’ve got some cleaning up to do in the den, may watch a DVD or PVR or two, and listen to some music. And may also do a bit of personal writing (some of which I intend to post down the line here on my WordPress blog.

For now, going to head into the shower, and then have a cup of tea.

I had a very relaxing day after work.

I came hope and napped for about 25 minutes this afternoon, and took care of a few things around the house. Needed to do some laundry and a little bit of vacuuming in the bedroom, and had a good afternoon of it overall.

Meant to do a little bit of work on the Chill 3rd Edition RPG scenario that I’ll be running for Halloween over the next week or so, but didn’t get around to that. Needed the rest more, I guess. The adventure is coming along, and will be ready in time, but still… Ah, well, the body needs what the body needs.

Had a somewhat relaxing Saturday, which was a good thing.

Woke up feeling somewhat tired and out of it, but managed to get up, take a stretch, and about a 5-minute walk outside. Came back inside, just as it was starting to get warm outside, and made breakfast, then showered, and then got down to putting in a load of laundry to wash and doing a bit of reading.

During the afternoon, came over for a while, and we continued to work on his (superhero) character for the Sixcess Core game system. A good way to spend the afternoon, but the character still isn’t finished.

My sister, who has been in Ottawa visiting my mom this week, and mom came by and picked me up, and Diana took us out for our birthday supper. (My birthday was on the 3rd, and Mom’s birthday is the 4th of August.) We went to Brother Wu for supper, and had a marvellous Chinese meal together. I had a bowl of mustard green soup, and we ordered mu shee chicken, hunan dumplings, sizzling beef on a platter, chinese broccoli, honey garlic spare ribs (for my sister) and chicken with cashews. I didn’t eat all that much, sampling food from the dishes for the most part, but it was a good, hot, tasty meal. All washed down with tea.

After supper at Brother Wu’s, Diana drove me home, and I relaxed for the rest of the evening listening to some Kate Bush music, and putting laundry in the dryer.
