Day 12 – Which RPG has the most inspiring art?

Interesting question.

I’ve got an interesting answer to this.

For the older rpgs out there, the most inspiring art for me came from the old DragonQuest RPG from SPI as well as the fantastic art for the SkyRealms of Jorune RPG that inspired so many story ideas for me back in the day.

From the modern day, the artwork for the Chill 3rd Edition RPG, as well as that of the Coriolis – The Third Horizon and the soon-to-be-released Trudvang Chronicles RPG have been the most inspirational artwork.

Day 11 – Which “dead game” would you like to see reborn?

For me, this is a no-brainer.

I would dearly like to see the SkyRealms of Jorune game reborn. While the game universe doesn’t need changing too much, the game system needs to be seriously revamped somewhat.

I’d *kill* to see SoJ reborn. *sigh*

“The time has come,” the walrus said, or something like that.

Once upon a time, in something like late 1982 or perhaps the 1984/1985 period (I can barely remember some of that time, and in my weakened state right now, well…) there was a really cool science fantasy (though I preferred to think of it as science fiction) roleplaying game called SkyRealms of Jorune. It was a very alien world, and had a great motto for the time: Leave Your World Behind.

Well, it’s time for me to Leave My World Behind, Again (to paraphrase somewhat). While I dearly love the Coriolis – The Third Horizon RPG, I’ve had a hankering for a while to go back to Jorune, to experience some of that sheer alien-ness again, and while I’ll continue to run Coriolis as well, I think SkyRealms of Jorune is that “other” science fiction rpg that I want to run.

So with the help of SteveR today, I have taken all the Jorune goodness out of my gaming/books storage cupboard, and have now but to peruse them again.

Can’t wait to revisit Jorune…soon.
