Start of December, A New Month December 1, 2017

It’s December 1st. A new month.

And I’m glad that November is over, though I am dreading the true coming of winter this month, but given how last month went, just happy December has arrived.

Being Jewish and a singleton, December tends to be a depressing month for me, though I do have some family and a few friends that will try to lighten the mood. That said, there’s all kinds of other stuff that December brings, so we’ll see how the month goes.

Medically, I’m hoping that the month will be a quiet one, but I doubt it. I;m currently in severe pain for reasons that I’ve discussed elewhere (sort of) in the blog. I’ve got an appointment with the regular doctor as well as my Footcare appointment to deal with, but there’s other stuff going on as well. And possibly a visit or two to the hospital… As for the rest of December, I’m hoping it passes quietly, there’s not a lot of snow ::knock on wood::, and that someone buys me a Christmas present of some sort! 🙂

The real trick for me in December (well, most of the winter, really) is to manage to keep warm. The arthritis that I have is one thing, but the neuropathy damage from the diabetes that I do have makes winter tough on my keeping the extremities warm.

It is a new month. November.

Or Movember, as it’s also known, since a lot of men grow moustaches for the month as a means of supporting prostate cancer research and the like. (Since I have a moustache already, I guess I can just let it grow a bit longer, right? 🙂 )

As a nice change for this month, I don’t have a lot of medical appointments, just three as of this writing, including an appointment with the family doctor ::knock on wood::. A pleasant surprise, as I discovered last night looking at the calendar. I still have too get both the flu shot and the pneumonia shot this year, but need to wait until I’m feeling a bit better and fully over the bug that I currently am (hopefully) just about done with.

I’m also hoping that Old Man Winter decides to hold off somewhat in regards to the white stuff. I’d really appreciate that.

It’s the start of October. A new month.

To be honest, I’m really happy to see the rear end of September.

While there were a few good moments in the month, September was a month that I will remember because of the pain.

The blisters on my feet are still healing, and I expected this to take a while as being diabetic, the healing process is slowed down somewhat. What I wasn’t expecting was the pain that goes along with it, and there have been days where I’ve been in absolute agony trying to walk.

Anyway, here’s hoping that October is a comfortable month, and that winter doesn’t strike too early or too hard at all. ::knock on wood::

I’ll be gaming this afternoon with the Sunday players, as they’ll continue on with character creation for The Dark Eye. In some ways, it’s a pain in the neck, but it’s a very detailed character creation system that has some fun elements to it.

It’s the start of September. A new month.

I’m really glad to see the back end of August. Other than some good stuff at GenCon 2017 and a few other things this month, the end of August was miserable for me.

While the beginning of September hasn’t been all that much fun, given my blister on the feet problem, I’m really hoping that September is a good month for me and that I get a chance to relax, do some gaming stuff, and that my feet recover before the end of the month.

In the meantime, I’m waiting around for a call from We Care, the Home Care folks who are coming around to keep an eye on my foot wounds and change the dressing.

Not sure about gaming tonight yet, as that will depend on the foot assessment that I get some time this afternoon (I hope).

It’s the 1st of August. A new month. Thank goodness.

I have to say that I’m quite relieved for the most part. While the first six months of 2017 weren’t exactly great for me, the month of July went by with several health issues that I have to admit have scared me, and that have definitely screwed with my head. Not to mention the stress.

On the the other hand, there were some good things in July, 2017. Most of those include gaming stuff, so I’m not going to go back over that stuff here.

As for August, well… There’s a lot of stuff this month, to be honest. There’s a couple of doctor appointments ahead of me this month, including the shoulder assessment for physiotherapy, footcare, and a doctor’s appointment today (and likely another one after the assessment at some point). And then there’s GenCon Indy that I’m looking forward to for the most part, but am not expecting it to be stress-free. Especially if I’m hampered by the shoulder and arm (which I suspect will be the case). I’m just going to try and take the month day-by-day, and am going to try and relax and not stress over stuff as much as I can.

But for now, some breakfast. 🙂

It’s July 1st.

The start of a new month. I’m not going to dwell on June, 2017, other than to say, “So long, farewell.”

And just a reminder that I cross-post all of my WordPress blog entries from my LiveJournal blog. Call it redundancy, call it for safekeeping, whatever you like. Hope to see some of you there as well. 🙂

June 1st. The start of a new month.

And I couldn’t care less.

While last month was pretty good for the early part of it, the second half of May was pretty rough. With the exception of CanGames, most of which I don’t remember, though I know I had some fun running the games I did (as the Whispering GM), I’ve spent the last part of the month pretty ill. I may have had something just before the convention, I definitely got con crud at the convention, and it may have mutated to something else. Maybe pneumonia? (The antibiotics that I’m on don’t seem to have done much for my condition, and I’ll be out of them by Sunday or so. We’ll see what happens after that.)

On the down side with June, this is the day that truly heralds the coming of summer for me, and the hot weather that I really dislike. (Yes, even though I was born in summer, on an exceedingly hot day in the year of my birth, I really *hate* the heat and summer.)

Anyway, June is not off to a good start, and I just hope things don’t get worse.

In the meantime, “One day at a time in June” is my motto.

Ah, May 1st. A new month.

First off, Happy May Day (or Beltane, if you prefer)! 🙂

While April wasn’t all that bad a month in some respects, I’m kind of glad to see see end of the month and the start of the second quarter of 2017. The first three months of this year have not been especially kind to me health-wise, and I’m hoping that changes for the better this month. ::knock on wood::

I get to start the month off with a trip to the Dynacare clinic to have blood tests and the like on my way home this afternoon. Can’t say I’m looking forward to that, but we’ll see what else the day holds in store.

I’ll be posting up my book reads for the month of April sometime today or tomorrow, but for now, I’m just glad it’s the beginning of May.

It’s March 1st. The start of a new month.

Thank Goddess.

February was, to put it bluntly, not kind to me at all. I spent most of the month somewhat ill with what turned out to be severe bronchitis, and got put on an antibiotic. That, in turn, has made me wish I were dead for the past three or four days or so, as the abdominal (both tummy and intestinal) “problems” have been…severe. I’m not surprised, since the dose of Auntie was 500mg twice a day. Regardless, it worked and the bronchitis is all but gone (with just a lung twinge here and there), so at least that part of me is good.

There were a couple of good things that happened in the month, but truthfully, not a month to remember. So bring it on, March! 🙂
