It’s Monday, the civic holiday here in Canada. Colonel By Day, officially.
I’m feeling somewhat out of sorts today, to be honest, as I am hurting quite a lot in the left abdominal area and the left ankle and foot. I’m also a bit groggy due to having only gotten some 3 hours of sleep again last night, and think I’ll be taking some Gabapentin for the pain soon.
I have no real plans for the day, to be honest, and am at a loss of what to do as the executive of my mother’s estate failed to pay the last few months Bell Canada service, and so I’ve not had home phone, internet, or tv since the first of the month. Will likely just catch up on reading, some DVD watching, and the like. Can’t really work on any gaming stuff, since I am not able to do the research that I need to on the internet.
Hope my friends and everyone living in Canada have a great day. (Remember to keep practicing safe behaviour by wearing a mask and engaging in social distancing if you feel like it today, in light of the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic is picking up steam again.) And the rest of the folks out there, too, of course. 🙂

The Start of February February 1, 2020

It’s Saturday morning. The first of February. A new month.
The weather outside is relatively clear and partially sunny, and only mildly cold (if you don’t count the wind chill). A nice change from most of January. I can’t say I’m unhappy to see the back side of January, as to be honest, last month was pretty bad health-wise and to some extent weather-wise (though it’s been a milder winter than most folks expected ::knock on wood:: ). I’m just hoping that this month is better than last month, especially health-wise. The early part of January was pretty decent, but the rest of the month wasn’t all that great for multiple reasons.
I don’t have much to say today as I’m in quite a bit of pain and have a few things I want to get done before the evening. That, and nap a bit this afternoon.

It’s the start of October. A new month.
To be honest, I’m really happy to see the rear end of September.
While there were a few good moments in the month, September was a month that I will remember because of the pain. And the diagnosis of Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD).
Most of the pain is in my left leg, my feet, my left shoulder, and my abdomen. The PAD is definitely affecting both feet and the lower legs, but I’m afraid that it may have crept into the shoulders and both arms. As a matter of fact, part of me wonders whether the problem with the left shoulder all along has been PAD and it’s been misdiagnosed. (Will have to talk to the doctor about this when I see him next.) This month will hppefully be spent finding a way to control the pain as well as find a way to alleviate all the bowel problems I have these days.
Anyway, here’s hoping that October is a comfortable month, and that winter doesn’t strike too early or too hard at all. ::knock on wood::
In the meantime, let pumpkin madness strike. 🙂

I’m still feeling somewhat giddy after the gaming experience on the weekend, but am hurting quite a lot in the left shoulder and the left foot and lower leg. Done a bit of exercise this morning, but the pain is still there and I’m a bit woozy from the Gabapentin and the Prednisone. No plans for the day, to be honest, other than to catch up on some reading, some PVR (and maybe some DVD) watching, do a bit of laundry and change the bed linens.

I’m getting ready for the afternoon gaming session with the Sunday group.
We’ll see how I manage the gaming session. I’ve got an extremely sore left neck and shoulder and can’t really turn in that direction. And to add to the misery, I messed up the insulin shot before breakfast today, and feel like I have a lump where I injected the insulin into my abdomen.
Anyway, the players will be continuing their Capharnaüm – The Tales of the Dragon-Marked RPG campaign. I’m rather looking forward to it. I think.
I’m just waiting for SteveR to show up with some lunch from Subway, and then we’ll be good to go.
Have a good afternoon (and evening), folks. 🙂

While there were a few good moments in the month, September was a month that I will remember because of the pain.
Most of the pain is in my left leg, my feet, my left shoulder, and my abdomen. (I’ve actually got a bad bruise from an insulin shot that is over a week old and going away very slowly. I expected this to take a while as being diabetic, the healing process is slowed down somewhat. What I wasn’t expecting was the pain that goes along with it, and there have been days where I’ve been in absolute agony trying to walk.
Anyway, here’s hoping that October is a comfortable month, and that winter doesn’t strike too early or too hard at all. ::knock on wood::
I’m currently down with my yearly infection during the late September/early October period, so that’s no different this year. I’m taking it as easy as I can, but I’ve lost my voice. Lots of fun ordering my insulin and other prescriptions.
In the meantime, let pumpkin madness strike. 🙂
